boAt Rockerz 255 Pro Plus Review After 1 Month
One of the highest selling headphone in Amazon and Flipkart is BoAt Rockerz 255 Pro Plus, it got 4 star rating on Amazon by more than 1 lakh customers and 4.2 star in Flipkart by more than 4.9 lakh customer which are very good numbers. I am using this neckband for a month after Oneplus Bullet Wireless Z.
Now come to the pricing, the current market price of this product on Amazon and Flipkart is Rs 1499.00 but I bought it in sale without any coupon at Rs 1099.00 in Oct 2022 from Amazon as it was 100 rupees costly on Flipkart at that time. I first track the pricing of this product and waited 2 month for any price drop and when I got the best price at sale I bought it.

Design and Build Quality
Boat Rockerz 255 Pro Plus is a flat neckband with hard plastic or PVC, ear module has metal built and eartips are soft, smooth and comfortable. The volume and power control unit is separately placed, design wise it don’t look good but I adjusted with it in couple of days. But when you wear the neckband the control unit is nearer to mouth, so the voice quality while calling is little better.
As the design of this wireless boat headphone is flat I noticed it tangle very less, These bluetooth boat headphone is also IPX7 waterproof rating, so you can wear it as you are doing gym or jogging. There is an led light at the back of volume and power control unit which turn blue when it is powered on, but boat should have placed it at the front so a person can see the light at the time of powering on and off. It also has USB Type-C port on it for charging.
The magnets of earbuds are very weak and it get separated vary easily, thankfully it don’t have any functionality. There is weird placement of volume buttons on the controller, when you wear the headphone the button placed above power button decreases volume and the button below power button increases volume. I don’t know why they placed it like that and it is a design flaw.
Sound Quality
Boat Rockerz 255 Pro Plus has good audio quality, it has 10mm driver which produces good bass. I recommend to play it at 50-60 percent which i feel ideal, as 100 percent is too loud for me (Yes this wireless headphone to very loud), Although it a personal choice and it differ person to person. It also comes with Qualcomm APTx Codec which provides low latency (Beneficial for Gamers) and improve sound experience.

Battery Life
In this department I find it very good as I am Impressed with the battery life of this wireless boat headphones. It has 300mah battery which company claims to provide 40 hours of battery life, as per my experience with it I charged it only 3 times in 1 month plus it was 90% charged when I first received it. So it can easily last 6-7 days with heavy use, It also support fast charging and it can give around 7 hour of playback time with 10 minutes of charging, and battery drainage is less due to Qualcomm APTx Codec.
Wireless Connectivity
This wireless boat headphone has Bluetooth v5.0 which is nowadays a minimum standard. It has dual pairing feature which is an advanced Bluetooth feature and in which you can connect two devices like laptop and mobile at the same time. I personally use this feature many times in a day as it is a convenient feature. Suppose I am watching videos on Youtube and at the same time I get a call on my mobile, I just need to pause the video and pick the call there is no need of switching from one device to another which eventually save time.
But there is an issue in boAt Rockerz 255 Pro Plus if you have connected one device and after 30 or 60 minutes later you want to connect it with the another one it doesn’t connect. You need to disconnect the first one and then you can connect two devices one by one at the same time or you need to switch off and then switch on the neckband, after this it will automatically get connected to both the devices. I don’t know this issue is with all the boAt Rockerz 255 Pro Plus headphones or I am facing this with the one I have.
Pro's and Con's
PRO’s
- Long battery life which can last 6-7 days on heavy usage.
- Flat cable design is more durable.
- Dual device connectivity is good and convenient.
- Volume is quite high and I like to hear it at 50-60% level, and it can block outside noises.
- Earbuds are comfortable and you will not feel any discomfort even after wearing 2 hours.
- It has IPX7 rating which makes it waterproof.
CON’s
- At 100% volume it loses the quality.
- Dual connectivity issue which I mentioned above under “wireless connectivity”.
- Weird volume button placement which I mentioned above under “design and build quality”.
- Earbuds magnets are weak and get separated very easily.
- Plastic build makes it average on looks department.
My Verdict
I got this bluetooth boat headphone at Rs 1099.00 on sale and at this price it is definitely a value for money product. Volume and comfort of device is good, they should have used soft PVC in making neckband rather than hard PVC. If you are patient enough and able to grab this Bluetooth wireless neckband at Rs 1099.00, I would definitely suggest you to go for it. At 1500 range there are other option like Oneplus Bullet Z Series (at sale) which are better option in terms of audio and design quality.
Quick Troubleshooting
After writing this blog I faced a new problem in boAt Rockerz 255 Pro Plus, it is working fine with my Onplus mobile but even after connecting properly with my HP laptop I am unable to hear sound from the headphone and audio is coming from my laptop’s speakers. I restarted my laptop but problem didn’t fixed, multiple time restarted my headphone but there was no solution.
Then next day I remove boAt rockerz 255 pro plus from laptop from Setting – Bluetooth & Devices and then reconnected it with my laptop and the problem gets resolved, it was a sigh of relief for me as I was planning to visit their service center, If you face this kind of problem you can solve it as I mentioned.
